Today’s video will be a discussion of Thailand travel updates. I will also discuss Thailand tourism and Thailand’s reopening plans. At the time of this video, Thailand is suffering from the lack of foreign tourism. Foreign tourist are not interested in coming to Thailand because of the 14-day quarantine, the domestic travel restrictions in the country, and the high rate of daily infections. Currently, the Thai government is implementing various programs to aid in the recovery of Thailand’s tourism, nightlife, and business sectors. Poverty and petty crime are on the rise due to the business closures, and “informal workers” who no longer have jobs. There are alcohol bans in various parts of the country. There are inter-provincial checkpoints in many areas of the county, and most restaurants are closed or operate under a strict curfew. In addition, many hotels and resorts have closed temporarily or permanently in Thailand. However, Thailand still plans to reopen part of the country by July 1st, 2021 for foreign tourism. This plan will allow foreign tourists to travel to Phuket. Other popular tourist destinations will follow. I am an expat living and working in Thailand. I can only hope for the best.
